Company Description:

Founded in 1996, Grasstec is a leading service & product provider to the agricultural sector in Ireland & the UK.

The services provided include farm mapping, design of grazing infrastructure, design of farm building projects, trading of dairy livestock, recruitment and the supply of precision farming equipment from Trimble.

The Role:

We are seeking a new team member to join our team to carry out surveys using equipment such as GPS, total stations, and drones. The role involves

  • Mapping all types of farms and collecting data such as the position of hedges, fence lines, waterways, manholes, etc.
  • Surveying buildings within farmyards
  • Taking contour levels
  • Driving a quad bike and/or Gator on farms and public roads
  • Designing new paddock, roadway & water systems.
  • Working with AutoCAD, preparing drawings
  • The role is predominantly field-based, with some office work involved in preparing and editing maps.
  • The role requires travel across Ireland & the UK.
  • The role is not a hybrid role. It is based in our head office when one is not out surveying.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong interest in agriculture, especially dairy farming
  • Have an interest in technology and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Enjoy the outdoor life, as the weather can be challenging when carrying out surveys
  • Positive attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Work on one’s own initiative
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD and surveying is a distinct advantage, but not essential
  • Experience with driving a quad is an advantage
  • Training will be provided where required

For transport and practical requirements, the successful candidate needs to be living within a daily commutable distance from our office at Newtownshandrum, Charleville.
