A plate meter, also referred to as a platemeter or grass platemeter, is a tool used for measuring grass height in pastures. Farmers commonly utilize this simple yet effective device to monitor grass growth and determine optimal grazing time for their livestock.
The plate meter operates by utilizing a flat metal plate that is pressed onto the grass, and the grass height is then measured using a scale on the side of the platemeter. This measurement provides an estimate of available forage for grazing animals. Regular use of a platemeter enables farmers to accurately track grass growth and adjust grazing strategies accordingly, optimizing pasture management.
The EC20 Plate Meter equipped with Bluetooth is accurate and robust for measuring pasture cover in grass paddocks that are straightforward to use and simple to understand. Complete with Android or IOS App using proven equipment technology, for easy use and data management.
