Stock Description: Here we have a premium quality group of maiden heifers. The buyer can select 50 from the entire 2024 born calf crop (150) from this quality autumn block calving herd. The calves have been professionally reared to a very high standard, they are all well grown and in great condition. They are all Ai sired by leading sires from Cogent sires including Holstein Ikon and red and white sires Voltage, Inch Valiant and Terry. The herd is Holstein x Nordic red and white sires this breeding has produced a productive herd of 650kg cows capable of yields in excess 9000 litres with good milk solids and fertile cows with good longevity. The herd is block calved in August-September. These calves would suit a variety of systems from autumn block to fully housed. These heifers are only for sale as herd has surplus due to excellent fertility and longevity in the herd.
Production Capacity: Herd performance is 9000 litres, 4.4% fat and 3.5% pro on an autumn block calving system with extensive grazing in the spring-summer period. The cows are not pushed and have the genetics to produce more on a fully housed system.
Age & Lactation: All the heifers are born in August at the front of the autumn block.
Health Status: These heifers have had a first class start, strict colostrum management in terms quantity, quality and johnes management. No heifers are from high reading cows. The heifers have had a wide spectrum of vaccines as is standard procedure on farm ensuring all calves have a opportunity to achieve there genetic potential. The herd is in a TB1 area with a IR in the herd 2 years ago, there has been no major issues.
