Stock Description: Here we have a very nice correct group of cows. These are medium size cows 550-600 kg liveweight. They are well balanced cows, with width and depth of body with well attached udders and good feet and legs. They would suit a variety of systems from fully outdoor spring system they are on to a fully housed system. All sired by Genus Irish Hol-Fr or small stature Holsteins. The herd originates from Irish Hol-Fr imported as in calf heifers over the years some cross breeding was used but in the last 3-4 years they have been bred back to Hol-Fr. The cows are all due to calve in May to A Angus or Hereford stock bulls.
Production Capacity: Considering these cows are organic and are not housed their performance is very good 5941 litres 4.71% fat 3.87% pro. If on a conventional or more intensive system these could would be able to achieve 8000 + litres.
Age & Lactation: The group are mixed aged; 28 lactations 1-5 and 12 cows lactations 5+. All cows have functional type with no large udders or poor feet and legs.
Health Status: Herd is located in TB edge area no history of TB ever on farm. Herd is Individually Johnes tested with no red cows in the group. No high cell count cows in the group.
