Stock Description: Nice group of early summer calving cows, 20 due in May, 7 due in June and 5 due in July to AI A Angus. The cows are a youthful group of cows coming from a spring block calving herd, for sale as don't fit into the block. The cows are Irish Holstein - Friesian with a small proportion of cross breds. The cows originated from Ireland as maidens selected for EBI and kg milk solids. The cows are still milking around 12 litres and are in great condition. All cows are cubicle trained and milked on a rotary.
Production Capacity: The herd is achieving 6130 litres, 4.6% fat and 3.7% protein on a spring grazing system. These cows would be capable of higher yields on a more intensive system.
Age & Lactation: The group is youthful with 2 in 1st lac,14 in 2nd lac, 6 in 3rd lac and 10 in lactation 4. Really just moving into their prime.
TB Status: The herd is located in a TB4 area.
Health Status: The herd is located in a TB4 area and is Johnes monitored via milk recording. They are up to date with all vaccinations.
