Stock Description: A nice young group of cows just starting to come into their prime, they are predominantly Irish Holstein / Friesian with up to 25% Jersey blood. Majority originate from Ireland and were selected on EBI and milk solids. The cows are looking in great condition, as expected with young cows their udders are well attached and walking on good feet and legs. These cows are due to calve from 3rd May to 15 June in calf to named A Angus AI sires. They are only for sale due to being at the end of this young large spring block calving herd. These cows will continue to develop into 550kg mature weight medium size cows. All are cubicle trained and milked on a rotary parlour.
Production Capacity: The herd is only in it's second season so all cows in the herd are in 1st and 2nd lactation and they are achieving very credible results already 5600 litres 478kg milk solids sold and this herd will only improve performance as the herd matures. The cows are still milking 14 litres / day @10% milk solids. The cows would very easily fit into an autumn block where their genetics would be capable of higher yields.
Age & Lactation: 18 cows are in their 2nd lactation, 2 in their 1st and 2 in calf heifers.
TB Status: The herd is located in a TB4 area.
Health Status: The herd is Johnes monitored with no high cows in the group. There are no cows with a high cell count in the group and they are up to date with IBR, Lepto and BVD vaccinations.
Unique Selling Point: A smart young group of cows just coming into their prime that will calve down to Ai beef sire ahead of the high milk price seasonality period.
