Due To Calve: Due to calve August / Sep in a 6 week block from early August to A Angus.
Lactation Breakdown: The cows are majority young cows: 3 in lac 1, 5 in lac 2, 2 in lac 3, 4 in lac 4 and 3 in lac 6.
Stock Description: A mix of breeding some are Irish Friesian breeding, nice medium size cows with well attached udders with good feet and legs.The other half are Jersey x breds mostly LIC breeding, again nice correct cows with good udders feet and legs smaller in stature than the black and whites.
Herd Health:The herd is in a tb4 area and has a zero tolerance for Johnes any cow with a high reading is culled. There is no high cell counts and no lame cows in the group. The cows are all currently dry.
Production Capacity: Medium size cows with genetics capable of 7-8000 litres. It is very much a grass based herd with only grass, silage and brewers grains fed, the cows are out wintered but most will be cubicle trained. These cows would be capable of higher yields on a different system.
