Stock Description: 12 homebred in calf heifers due from the end of May through June, several starting to bag up now. In calf to named A Angus stock bull. The heifers are the late calvers from a spring block calving herd the heifers were served with sexed semen for start of the block but had poor results with the sexed (no fault of the heifers). The heifers are well grown and will mature into 520 + kg cows bred for milk solids, fertility and longevity. All Ai sired by leading LIC sires predominately Friesian sires.
Production Capacity: The herd is still a young herd and achieving 5850 litres, 4.7% fat, 3.6% pro and 500 kg milk solids on a grass based system, this will increase as the herd matures. These heifers would be capable of higher yields on a more intensive system.
Age & Lactation: The heifers will be calving at 26-27 months of age.
Health Status: The farm is located in 12 month TB testing area, there has never been any cases of TB on the farm. The herd is vaccinated for Ibr, Bvd and Lepto.
