Only the best proven cows are bred to dairy sires and mating has been strictly from selected dams in the herd for over 10 years. The background to herd would be a blend of Irish and NZ cross bred cows but in the last 5-6 years breeding has moved to predominantly black and white sires. These heifers are in great body condition with weight in the range 350-400 kg. The heifers are from a large spring calving herd and have been served but scanned empty. The farm is putting this down to the bulls not working as the heifers that were served on the sync program and were AI served have had great conception rates. These are ideal for Nov service for autumn calving 2027. The genetics would suit an autumn block system. The mature weight of the herd would be 540 kg.
