Stock Description: Genuine herd sale due to retirement, Frisian based herd bred by very well bred stock bulls from a local herd. They are a modern Friesian that has width and strength but retains dairy character. Mature liveweight will be 600-650 kg. The herd is split block calving Sep-Nov for the autumns and Feb – April for the springs. Managment has been kept simple with extensive use of grazed grass with parlour feed in summer and cubicle housed, grass silage with small amount caustic wheat and parlour feed in the winter. Very durable cows that just get on with it, easy calving and very fertile. Stock bulls have been used for 10 plus years these are the only stock bought in and come from a local very well know Friesian breeder. With 140 cows in the autumn group and 120 in the spring group. The heifers all calve down at 2.5 years for ease of calving and for them to have strength to compete in the herd. The herd can be split but preference will be to a buyer who can take a large amount. If split into smaller groups these would really need to be 40+ cows.
