Job Description: A dairy herdsperson to assist the owner and one other staff member to manage the 300 cow dairy herd

Location: Based 10km from Navan, Co Meath, Ireland

The Farm: A 300 cow spring calving herd milked through a 24/48 herringbone parlour, excellent facilities including auto drafting, auto scrapers and modern calf rearing facilities, all major tasks including silage, slurry, fertiliser, AI, hoof paring and calf de-horning are done by contractors

The Role: an interesting and challenging role that requires a competent person with milking experience, good understanding of grass measuring, safe operation of farm machinery, heat detection, calving and calf rearing

The Applicant: must primarily be a good stockperson with a minimum one year in Agricultural College along with tractor experience. Good humour and a willing team player are essential qualities

Accommodation: A well-equipped, modern, clean, self-contained one bed apartment approx. 400 m away from the farmyard

Remuneration: Good basic salary but will depend on age and experience with the possible opportunity for an ambitious person to build up stock of their own for their own farm in the future
