We meet with Andrew Dineen – Macroom, Cork to discuss his project consisting of a 20 unit GEA parlour, collecting yard, handling facilities, calving area and cubicle shed all under one roof. Designed by Grasstec, construction completed by Tim Lyons and Handling facilities completed by O’Donovan Engineering.
Part 2 We discuss Andrews grazing infrastructure, looking at drainage, roadways, water layout and grazing management. Andrew has placed a major emphasis on his grazing infrastructure and grassland management. The farm is located in a disadvantaged area, there was a lot of drainage and rock breaking work required. The farm is long and narrow, meaning cows are walking over 1.5 miles, he has invested in putting in a top-quality roadway.
