Our Farm

  • New spring block dairy farm venture April 2024 entering into existing dairy setup
  • 300 acre milking platform, over 600 acres total
  • Aiming to milk 350 cows, grazing March through till November
    • NZ / cross bred genetics aiming to maximise milk solids from grazed grass
  • Existing infrastructure includes:
  • 40 / 80 herringbone parlour
  • Cubicles & feed yards
  • Extensive cow tracks and water trough system
  • Infrastructure investment taking place this year:
    • Additional new cubicles creating 400 cow spaces
    • New silage pits
    • Extending the slurry lagoon
    • New heifer calf shed
  • All replacement stock will be reared on farm
  • All major tractor work will be carried out by contractors, including fertiliser spreading, mowing, silage making and slurry spreading.


Available Roles

We are looking for a 2 I/C to join our new team: must have enthusiasm, a positive attitude and be someone who enjoys working with livestock. Whilst some dairy experience is preferred a willingness to learn and adapt is far more important. Great communication skills are required as you will be working within a team environment throughout the day.  Our aim is for someone to grow into this role and current experience will not limit progression opportunities in the future.

The role will include the following aspects of dairying:

  • Milking
  • Grass measuring, feed allocation and budgeting
  • Calf rearing and youngstock grazing management
  • Tractor driving including scraping, feeding out and occasional field operations
  • Responsibility of AI and foot trimming may be passed on in time
  • Electronic record keeping
  • Farm maintenance and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment

The farm is in beautiful North Devon, with good access to shops (8 mins), schools (5 mins) and a pub (2 mins).  The nearest large town is Barnstaple which is 20 minutes away.  The farm is well placed for access to a variety of North Devon beaches (30 mins) and is not far from the M5 (30 mins).
